Today’s youth are tomorrow’s leaders.

Their impact on societal issues can bring positive change to communities in the U.S. and around the world.

Empowering a generation of young global citizens

Investing in today’s youth is really an investment in our communities – now and for years to come. When young people believe in themselves and are empowered with the knowledge, skills and resources to be leaders, they have the potential to help change the world for the better and create healthier, stronger and safer communities.

Join Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young® in supporting a variety of programs that empower future generations to make a difference in their communities.

Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young was the first U.S. national sponsor of WE, a family of organizations making doing good, doable. Today, our support of WE Charity includes:

  • WE Volunteer Now Campaign and Grants – Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young partnered with WE to create the WE Volunteer Now campaign, which enables schools and youth-serving organizations to plan and lead volunteer projects throughout the year. For the 2017-2018 school year, $125,000 in grants (500 WE Volunteer Now grants of $250) are being awarded to schools and youth-serving organizations to support their volunteer projects.
  • WE Volunteer Now Speaking Tour – Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young is partnering with WE to bring the WE Volunteer Now speaking tour to 80 schools and youth-serving organizations across the U.S. during the 2018-2019 school year. Tour stops feature a keynote address for students and leadership-development training for a dedicated group of student community-service leaders.
  • WE Schools – Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young is a National Co-Title sponsor of WE Schools, a yearlong educational program with free service-learning plans, curriculum, activities, campaigns and more.
  • WE Day – Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young is a National Co-Title sponsor of WE Day, which brings world-renowned speakers and performers together with thousands of youth to celebrate the power young people have to change the world.

During the 2016-2017 school year, more than 1.5 million U.S. youth took part in WE programs, volunteering their time to support local and global causes, such as bullying, homelessness and hunger. More information on WE programs is available at WE.org.

Facing History and Ourselves is an international educational organization that engages educators and students in an examination of racism, prejudice and antisemitism to combat prejudice. For more than a decade, Allstate Foundation Good Starts Young has partnered with Facing History to host Community Conversations and bring communities together through meaningful dialogue on today’s most profound issues. These free events enable youth, along with their parents, teachers and community members, to engage with distinguished speakers to challenge their collective thinking, promote tolerance and create social change.

More information on the Community Conversations is available on FacingHistory.org.

Junior Achievement provides volunteer-delivered classroom programs for youth from kindergarten through 12th grade to foster work readiness, entrepreneurship and smart money management.

For more than 60 years, Allstate agency owners and employees have volunteered in Junior Achievement classrooms, teaching these classes to youth across the country. As leaders and role models, Allstate volunteers have encouraged young people to dream big and reach their full financial potential.
